Analytic Accounting

Odoo 19 Enterprise · Accounting

Analytic accounting tracks costs and revenues by project, department, or cost centre — parallel to the main chart of accounts and without affecting statutory reporting.

1

Enable analytic accounting

Accounting Configuration Settings Analytic Accounting

Analytic Accounting is not enabled by default. Go to Settings, find the Analytics section, and tick Analytic Accounting. Also tick Analytic Tags if you want to tag entries for flexible grouping. Save. Analytic fields will now appear on journal entry lines and invoice lines.

2

Analytic plans (Odoo 19)

Accounting Configuration Analytic Plans

In Odoo 19, analytic accounts are organised under Analytic Plans. A plan defines a dimension — for example "Projects", "Departments", or "Cost Centres". Each plan contains its own set of analytic accounts. You can have multiple plans active simultaneously, allowing multi-dimensional analysis.

Migrating from older versions If migrating from Odoo 15 or earlier, your existing analytic accounts will be placed under a default plan. Review Configuration → Analytic Plans and reorganise if needed.
3

Create an analytic account

Accounting Configuration Analytic Accounts NEW

Click New and fill in the details.

4

Use analytic accounts on transactions

Once analytic accounts are configured, they appear as a column on invoice lines and journal entry lines. Select the appropriate analytic account on each line to tag the cost or revenue. Multiple analytic accounts can be assigned to a single line with percentage splits using the Analytic Distribution field.

5

Analytic report

Accounting Reporting Analytic Report

The Analytic Report shows all analytic accounts with their balance — the net of all costs and revenues tagged to each account. Use filters to show hierarchy and subtotals. Export as PDF or spreadsheet for project profitability analysis.
